A girl in work was recently boasted about going on a japanese website and buying wi's etc on the site for £30.

My guess is that she just got scammed out of £30 -- ask her when it's supposed to arrive, then ask later if it ever did.

it is possible with some of the bid sites.

but you pay say £0.50 for every bid you make. yes you might get it for £30 but if you have had to make 100 bids to win it then they have had another £50 of you and the 3 people you were bidding against so they have got £230 and make a profit on the wholesale cost.
