Can you please recommend a gold coloured plant? It has to be visibly gold as its a present for a golden wedding anniversary. Thanks

Im in the UK if that helps but sugestions from everyone welcome

  2. Try these for choice. First a list of smallish trees and then some shrubs of various sizes.

    Indian Bean Tree, Catalpa bignonioides, "Aurea" - tree up to 30 ft.

    Honey Locust, Gleditzia triancanthos "Aurea" - tree up to 12 ft.

    Japanese Holly, Ilex crenata "Golden Sun" - tree up to 20 ft.

    False Acacia, Robinia pesudoacacia,  Frisia, shrub/tree up to 12 feet

    Hebe ochacea, "James Stirling" shrub up to 3 ft

    Golden Hop, Humulus lupulus aureus, climber up to 50 ft.

    Golden Privet, Ligustrum ovalifolium, shrub up to 10 ft.

    Chamaecyparis obtusa "Nana Aurea", conifer, up to three ft.

    Thuya occidentalis "Rheingold" conifer, up to 5 ft

    Mexican Orange Blossom, Choysia Ternata,"Sundance" shrub 4 - 5 ft.

  4. The rose  named "Golden Wedding" comes already gift packaged with champagne from many sites. This shrub is also at Peter Beales' site so you can combine it with your own gift selection and wrap.  This is a very popular rose in Britain however this  and many other golden flowered roses are available.

    Personally I think a better golden flowered rose is David Austin's English rose "Golden Celebration" or  "Molineaux" because they are more fragrant.

  5. Ive heard that puttiung gold ink in the soil with water can turn the leaves gold. Other than that I cant think of any gold plants.

  6. There is a rose bush called Golden Wedding, and it does have golden yellow flowers!
