A golf club question?

I am a low 90s golfer who has played with generic, cheap irons for the past several years. i am looking for a good iron set about $300 or lower. I would like oversized irons, with forgiveness in the long irons and feel in the short irons. any ideas?

  1. spend an extra $100 and get some Callaway X18's

  2. This year I picked up a set on Adams Ovation 3 irons (4-LW) on sale for $199 (plus free shipping) from d**k's Sporting Goods website. They're pretty forgiving but also give good feedback on mishits. Tough deal to beat.

  3. Regardless of what Nathan says, theres a reason that the pros play clubs made by the big companies.  I would also suggest either a slightly used set or last years model.  Callaways are a little more expensive, but are by far the best clubs for any handicap over 15.  You should be able to get a set of X16 or X18's for a little above $300.

  4. Cobra makes a good "game improvement" club easy to hit and get the ball up nice and high.  You should be able to find a used set in your price range.

  5. if u want good quality irons i suggest the taylormade r7 draw irons they are a little more than $300 but well worth it my score went down by avg. 8-10 strokes

  6. Callaway big bertha irons or nike slingshots

  7. Try and find last years models - they fall into the $300 range at golfsmith.

    Look at cobra.
