A good, compact digital camera that takes beautiful shots while sightseeing?

I'm looking for a tiny camera for a trip. What is the min. optical zoom and megapixel size I should get? Any specific recommendations?

Try a Canon camera.  I personally have a Canon Powershot SD 1100 IS. its 8 megapixels with face detection and image stabalization, It takes excellent photos. Also it is very compact but packs alot of features. Costs about $200.00

Go for canon camera, or if you want sony is also good in low end. Go for 6 to 8 M pixels and 4x optical zoom should be ok, and I would ask you to go for Canon Powershot A590 IS
