Question:

A good Home Cinema set up for £300 max?

I am after an all in one home cinema kit for my lounge, I have a 40" Sony Bravia HD TV (only 1 HDMI input!) and a PS3 which must run through the surround sound as well (room is 12'4" x 13' 1").

My budget is £300 and I am looking at the Panasonic SCPT850. Any suggestions? Cheers.

  1. I would be very carefull in your choice of system in that price range. Whilst there are some decent buys to be had, SOME all-in-ones in your price range have little or no connectivity to other devices.

In view of the fact you're using a PS3, why do you need an all-in-one? I'd go for an AV receiver and speaker package like the one on the site I've attached, it's a reasonable spec system with a few inputs so you can update/improve as you wish.

  2. For what you need you will definatley get something that works for you, ignore the negativity.

You just want to improve the sound quality over what you have today and increase the enjoyment of the PS3.

Make a start and check out something like

    Pioneer DCS-363

    Pioneer DCS-370

    Samsung HTX200R

Also check out stuff.tv - you get good and unbiased reviews here.

    Good Luck with your purchase.

  3. You can EITHER get a 'good' one OR you can get one for under £300.

You can't get a 'good' one for under £300, though.

For a 'good' one, you need to spend MORE than £300.

  4. I have to agree with the other answers and say £300 won't get you a decent home cinema setup.

  6. yeah, 300 is peanuts and it wont be 'good'
