Try the Groups section. I'm a member of UK Rail and Rail Gen Online.

If you are into the modern scene, UK Rail is for you. However, I'd reccommend a good search of the group section.

This forum has rail staff and enthusiasts alike.

Posts on there can be varied from what train is passing where and when to Why so Signallers where slippers in a signal box. And Which signal box has the hardest lever to pull in the country.

You have to register to view the forums but its worth it in the end as the more you post the closer you become to being an administrator

There are numerous groups dedicated to various facets of UK railways in Yahoo Groups. Some are dedicated to specific areas of the country, some to steam, some to the modern scene, some to lost railways and others to railway photography. Go to the Yahoo Groups home page and search.
