  1. I'm going to tell you up front, there is no such thing as a good guitar that is about $200. I have played every ranged price of guitars from $10 guitars to $10,000 guitars, so I would know. A good guitar will run you about a thousand. But the closest brand I have played that will make such a guitar at a low price would be Epiphone. So far, everything I have played on an Epiphone is just outstanding, even though they are made in Korea I believe, they are still good. I own a custom Epiphone Black Beauty VOS, and it's very good, although I like the Gibson version better. A good model would an AJ-100. It's acoustic electric, but that's a good thing. It will give you a better range with the guitar, so need to fret.

I don't like Boomer Wisdom's comparison, it makes no sense. My comparison is "A guitar is like a gun, You can have the best guitar ever, but you won't be able to use it if you don't know what you are doing"

    Hope this helps!

  2. You need one that fits your fingers, and has a nice "resonating" ring to it. You need to try them out --buying by "brand" doesn't work. I have found amazing guitars by Yamaha and Seagull that were very inexpensive but "sang" well and had good action.

Try before you buy. Guitars are like dogs: you need to find one with which you have an instant rapport.

    Happy hunting.
