I plan on learning to play guitar and I'm looking into buying this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Takamine-Jasmine-Acoustic-Electric-Guitar/dp/B0002TTX52/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments&qid=1217107951&sr=1-1

The reviews seem decent, but does anyone else know if it is any good?

  1. takamines have been known for good guitars :D use to own one myself ^^

  2. Hey Blank.....

Takamine is a very good, inexpensive, and good sounding guitar. What I like about them is that they are low maintenance. That means that you won't have to keep adjusting them like other guitars.

I would suggest to put .010 or .009 on it for ease of playing. This puts less strain on the neck and on your fingers.Plus, these strings will give a brighter sound.

You might want to check on the Phosphor bronze string for added tone.

  3. i really couldn't say, but i tried guitar when i was younger. you probably should start with an acoustic. they are easy to play on, && aren't too expensive.
