  1. Try "Luck of the Draw" from Gamewright - I picked it up at Barnes and Noble and had a great evening with a mixed-age group.  It's a drawing game but everyone draws the same thing - for instance "Time" - when everyone finishes drawing, all players vote on whose drawing wins in silly categories like "most anatomically correct" and "largest"

Since artistic talent doesn't matter, its fun for everyone.  Has won multiple game awards as well.

  2. scrabble... it's the best :)

  3. Scrabble and Taboo are great.  She might like a game called Mancala.  It is an ancient game, but a very neat one and easy to learn, but also very interesting.

  4. parchese, monopoly ?

  5. monopoly  , trivial pursuit    both  great  games

  6. Rumolli

  7. Maybe it depends what she likes eg. Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Taboo, Pictionary and a version of Monoploy are all fairly standard I think.  Pictionary has been a cause of many funny nights in my experience.  It might be a good one for when some people are better with words and knowledge than others, so there is more fun and you can swap teams around for fun too.  If all else fails, maybe a voucher for the toy store or department store that sells them could be good as she can chose her own.  Good luck.

  8. cash flow 101 or monoply

  9. There are a ton of good games. If your sister likes strategy then you should get her Settlers of Catan. If she likes to be rich, then get her Monopoly or Life. Go with your sisters interests.

  10. Cranium

    Scrabble

    Mad Gab

    Taboo

    Scatagories

  11. Try some more bizarre games. ...like Munchkin or Illuminati(by Steve Jackson games) or like some horror games like Arkham horror or House on Haunted Hill (by Avalon Games) or the B-movie games (by z-man games).  Go to www.doordice.com and see what you can find!

  12. it really depends on what she likes. the scene it games are a lot of fun and there are a lot of different versions to fit into what she is into. the special editions of classic games are also fun to play. for example my older siblings (all in their 30s) like both The Simpson's Life and Pirates of the Caribbean Life, as well as the Haunted Mansion Clue (i haven't gotten to play that one yet, lol).

if she has a lot of friends who like to play board games with her any of the Cranium games should work well. they get everyone involved and are supposed to work well in teams too.

    hope this helps.

  13. Apples to Apples!  It is the most fun game ever, and a wide variety of ages can play together!

  14. monopoly. you can get loads of different versions these days.

  15. I think you should get her Scrabble.(not the Jr. kiind though)
