Question:

A good camera for concerts?

I am looking for a good camera for concerts. Meaning I want one good with dim lighting, a fast shutter speed, good resolution, and one that doesn't look so professional I get it taken away. I would like for it to have good video/sound quality too, but if I have to sacrifice that for good picture quality I will.

I had a Kodak EasyShare V803, which I loved everything about except the video and sound quality, but the screen cracked and I would rather get a better quality camera than just try to fix it.

I don't really have a price range, but preferably less than $300-$350

  1. I think you are asking for the impossible. Concerts are a VERY difficult situation even for the best of photographers and best of gear.

Small point & shoot cameras that MIGHT be allowed at a concert will never give you the same performance as a DSLR with a high quality FAST lens.

You could possibly improve things somewhat with an external flash (only possible with some upper-end P&S's), but you'd have to be very close to the action and it wouldn't be allowed anyway.

You are stuck with either spending a lot more money on some serious gear, or having dark, grainy, blurry photos....... sorry  :-(
