I am considering buying my first digital camera, I don't know much about photography or photo editing but it is something that I want to get into or try. I want to use the camera for photos and some video. Does anyone know of a cheap camera that has good quality photos/ video?

  1. beachcamera.com

    They have great prices

  2. You can hardly go wrong with the cameras on the market today. Decide on a price point and go shopping. They all work similarly, so you want to make sure you get at least 5 megapixels and rechargeable battery. Most cameras come with an entry level memory card, so check out the card types and your homework on those with the best price/value equasion. I would not by any extras with the camera, since you can get all those later at a lower price. Fuji, Canon, Sony, Nikon, Minolta are all good brands.

  3. if you really want a good digital camera you need to look for a higher number of mega pixels. any good camera is pretty expensive, but you can find cheap ones anywhere, even bestbuy.

  4. first of all without any knowledge you are likely to choose some bad camera, because it requires knowledge about it like any other product...

but not to worry when AKSHAY is answering , coz i know a lot about cameras....so i am giving you 4 best camera's available in the market, so u decide then...

all 4 are good , just the difference is of price....& quality...

sony & canon are the top quality brand for camera

    sony t300 ($399)- http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stor...

    sony t77($299)-

    http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stor...

    canon sd 950 ($399)-http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro...

    canon sd 790 ($299-)http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro...

personally i like t300 or t200(i own that)....because sony is making 12 mega pixel camera also, but that is of no use, when  it lacks touchscreen & other functions.......because for 4x6 print you all need is 3-5 mega pixel.......after that is just to ensure for any further big prints + ISO + other features.....

all 4 camera does video recording in DVD quality

    VGA - 30 FPS

  6. One of your answerer's is having you spend $300 to $400- no need for that. Your first camera?

A very decent camera would be the Canon PowerShot A590 IS

8 megapixels, 4X optical zoom and has an image stabilizer for shaky hands. You can set shutter speed or aperture manually or leave on auto. TriState Camera has it for $150 + shipping.

Another very good camera would be the Canon A720 IS

8 megapixels, but 6X optical zoom and has image stabilizer also. Settings can also be set manual or auto.

    Don't forget you'll need a memory card.
