Hi everyone. I asked this question in the travel section but no one answered. Anyway... my husband and I are planning on a weekend trip this labor day with our one year old. Do you know of any good family beaches on the east coast that is great to go to? That doesn't cost a ton of money? Thank you.

  1. Nags Head. Peaceful and quiet but an hour or so drive to Myrtle Beach for the malls and activities.

  2. There are good beaches all along the east coast. When I was little we always rented a beach house at either Rehobeth or Bethany Beach in Delware.

  3. well were are youfrom? here in Maine most of the state beaches are about 2$ per person. i hope this helps

  4. Myrtle Beach SC is a real good beach and it is very family oriented.

  5. One that is always overlooked because of it's southern neighbors is Sandbridge Beach in Virginia.  It is removed enought from the hubbub of VA Beach (you don't need that with your little one); it's about 3x's less than any part of the Outer Banks (although they are lovely too) - they are part of them.  Most of the accomodations are cottages or homes but there is a group of townhomes at the "top" of the beach.  One of my other personal faves is Wrightsville Beach, NC and some of it's surrounding ones.  And my most fave. beach is still Destin, FL (Sandestin).  I love how soft the sand is, and how turquoise-y the water is and how there is barely any surf so the little ones can play.  This area can be more expensive though.  I think your best most cost effective choice here is VA Beach.  Stay a little south or way north away from the boardwalk and you'll have plenty of room.  Plus the airport is in Norfolk.  Hope you find a great one!
