My sister hard drive in her laptop is not booting properly so I am going to use a partitioner to get her data on to my pen drive and move it to another computer, then use the disc to revert her computer to it's original state. Know of a good free partitioner?

  1. If your going to move her data to a pen drive & then reformat her hard drive (once you have moved her data over) you do not need a partitioner.

Just copy/paste all her personal data that she wants saved to your pen drive. Then put the CD in her computer to format & reinstall a fresh copy of OS.

A partitioner does not move data. It only split's the hard drive into virtual seperate hard drives. ie it can take a 100gig hard drive, and make it appear as 2 seperate 50 gig hard drives. But the partitioner does not move data. So just copy paste her doc's, pst, pic's etc to your pendrive. Once her computer has a fresh OS installed, use the pen drive to just copy/paste the data back where it belongs.

  2. partition logic is free and easy disk partitioner...use it.........
