My friend has been living in Texas all her life. She's moving out all on her own for the first time this Saturday, and it's all the way to Nebraska! I want to give her something that she would really appreciate and use. What would a new Nebraskan wish they had? She knows about the harsh winters and she's stalking up on boots and stuff. But... what else?

  1. A breakfast in bed gift basket from Wine Country Gift Baskets.  She will get a bed tray with pancake mixes, coffees, teas, coffee mugs and a wonderful assortment of things to welcome her to her new home and great breakfast opportunities.  It's a hands down favorite.  Go on line to their site and find many gift basket choices that would work.  My friends and family love these for any occasion.

  2. A good thick fleece blanket. You can make one really easy. Go to the nearest fabric store and get 2 different colors or designs of fleece about 3 yards each. Pin the 2 pieces of fabric together. Cut a 3 inch square out of each of the corners. Around the outside edges make cuts into the fabric about 1 inch apart and 3 inches in. Then tie the two pieces of fabric together. Since these directions are quite criptic ask someont at the fabric store how to do it or if they have instructions. Maybe you can find the instructions online. You cannot but this kind of blanket in the store. I have made alot of these blankets for myself and my family and they love them!!!

  3. a emergency kit in case she is cooped up in the house during bad weather,   flash lights and batteries, bottled water and canned foods

a portable tv and radio with batteries  blankets heavy slippers and coat or sweater....
