  1. passion of christ

  2. Monty Python's Life of Brian

  3. There are "JESUS" films in many languages.  You can contact Campus Crusade for Christ and they might even send you a video free.  They give them out free at the parking area where people are waiting in line to cross the Mediterranean Sea from Europe to Africa and other places.  I'll find the web site.

  4. Religulous

  5. The Passion of the Christ is only about the last 12 hours of Christ's life before the crucifixion, but it was excellently done. You must get past the fact that it is done all in Aramaic and you have to read subtitles, unless you are fluent in such an ancient tongue. There is also the issue of the extreme gore that makes Gladiator look like a Veggie Tales movie. Most producers will pull the punches to make a historical piece more family oriented, but not Mel. Jesus of Nazareth is a 6 hour film of Christ's whole life, which is Biblically well done, but is very old and lacks the special FX we are accustomed to these days.

  6. The exorcist

  7. Learn about Jesus through movies? Seriously?

    R-r-right.

Why would you want to study his life? What about His message?

There is/are no better or good movies about Jesus if you do not have a clue about Him and why/what He was sent to do for mankind.

When you do (have a clue) even the movies (like "Passion of Christ") will just be like a re-enactment or documentary.

Movies are never the best way to learn! But seems to be the easiest!

Except on some one like Jesus. Best to go to a book store or your library ~ there, you can really learn, study, research him.

    Have fun!

(Come to think of it, you can never learn any thing in autobiographies ~ they are all sugared or spiced up to make it a "good" read and to make the number 1 non-fiction chart)

  8. Jesus Christ Superstar.

Don't watch Passion of the Christ.

  9. Watch Merlin (the 1998 TV Movie), where the real magic occurs at the end, when the entire kingdom turns away from evil(law), stops acknowledging it, and then it simply vanishes.

    It's scriptural: 1Corinthians 13:8-11... 2Timothy 3... Hebrews 8:13

  10. Hamlet 2

  12. the passion of Christ, but it is hard to watch.

  13. It's a long one, but you can't truly get a better Jesus movie than "Jesus of Nazareth" starring Robert Powell.   In my humble opinion, that movie (unlike most others) captured the essence of what I believe Jesus was in that time.  He spread the truth about God with happiness, told amazing parables, but could turn deadly serious when casting out demons, speaking with spine-shivering authority.

Admittedly, I tend to fast-forward through much of the beginning because I just really enjoy the parts starting when Jesus reads the scripture (on the scroll) and shocks the listeners with His translation of what it truly meant.

As for the actual punishment He endured up to His death, Passion of the Christ is the one to watch.  I honestly can't watch that movie without getting teary-eyed.   It's brutal to watch, but it's THIS brutality that I find necessary to remind everybody who likes to make jokes about Jesus that what He is and what He did for us is anything but a laughing matter.    <")))><

  14. Passion of Christ

  15. Jesus Christ, Superstar- A rock opera is a good one

Godspel, a musical is a good one.

  16. The Last Temptation Of Christ is excellent.  David Bowie was great as Pilate! :)

  17. The one I have found that protrayed Jesus the way I believe how He was when on earth is, "Visual Bible - Matthew" In the Bible series. Starring Bruce Marchiano.  It follows the bible verse by verse and the other reason I like it is because it shows Jesus smiling and laughing. I had never seen one before that did and I believe Jesus did smile and laugh. You can find it on Amazon.com
