Food in Houston is VERY different to SoCal.  Seems like everything is made differently with other influences. We've been here two years (Og. from LA) and we only started to enjoy food here once we stoppped comparing it. Just like another person metioned Katz is tasty, but still different.  Watch out for LARGE Texas portions.

Two delis spring to mind here in Houston: Kenny & Ziggy's and Katz's.
