  1. I do not suggest Cayo Coco, I went with some people, and did not evjoy it at all!

The maids stole, the beach was VERY dirty, the food was horrible, we all got food poisioning.

But some people do enjoy it, that was just my opinion.

  2. I would highly reccomended the

    Iberostar Varadero Resort

After we stayed in Havana three days, we were on our way to Varadero after a few stops to drop people of at other hotels we were really happy about how the place looks.

The room was only ready by three in the afternoon, so we had time for a long lunch, the buffet was great. A lot of choice and most important in a closed airconditioned area! Have been to several all inclusive hotels and this one is the best.

The room was nice and clean and we experienced some blackouts, just a minute then everything was working again, the maid wasn't too keen though, refilling the fridge was only refilling the beer, i had to ask for the fizzy water twice and got it once, the number of towels depended on her mood i think, one day is one short, two short, another no clean towels at all, I don't mind tipping, but it's not a pay-it-forward system is it?

But overall the room was clean, only fridge and towel issue...

The three restaurants, japanese was one big show, everything tasted the same, but nice to go to once, mediterranian i don't know, it was nice, but it was just a buffet, the cuban restaurant was the best, even you have to sit the heat and you are sweating over you food, it was best of three.

The best was still the buffet, me as a picky person, I was happy to see all the different choices and not even being a breadperson, there is a great variety of bread, decent bread not the bread"biscuits" the locals have. Once a week it's lobster, once a week seafood( crabs in all sizes),once a week italian(with all the hams) well it was great!

the pool was a nice area, i laughed my head of with the competitions they have regularly... the beach was great, light blue, you can walk pretty far out, but watch out for the pebbles and shells.

    Have a wonderful trip

  4. Cuba is beautiful wherever you go to stay...but I'd love to suggest Cayo Coco. The Cayos are just gorgeous. It's very relaxing there. The water is clear turquoise and the sand is soft, powdery white. It's not an overly crowded place....mind you, in December a lot of resorts will be busier than other times. However, the Cayos are amazing.

My personal favourite is Tryp Cayo Coco. It is known to be the liveliest of all the resorts along that beach...but not rowdy...just full of life and fun. There'll be music playing while out there playing beach volleyball, etc...but again, nothing wild and annoying. There are a lot of activities to do but if you want to just relax and chill, then that's all you have to do.

The whole staff is wonderful.....and I mean everyone who works there from the grounds, the rooms, food service, Public Relations, and Entertainment Staff.

The food is fabulous, despite what others say. It's not bland AT ALL. There is a lot of variety and cooked daily. The a la carte restaurants are really nice too.

Excellent activities and day trips are offered through the resort...even a 2-day stay in Havana....they'll fly you there in 40 minutes and spend the day (and overnight if you choose)...45 minutes to drive into the town of Morón...and it's very easy to get there. So even though the Cayos are a little secluded from the mainland, it's not deserted...

The resort also is one of the few if not the only one that has flamingos there....it's an ecological area in the Cayos.

The resort itself is beautiful. It's a bright, open-concept from the moment you step into the lobby...it goes down into the lounge/bar area from reception and stairs down to the whole open area. Very Caribbean-style design throughout.

And another big plus is the airport is only a 15 minute drive from the resort.

You will love it there and will make friends for life.
