A good place to vacation on The Gulf Of Mexico?

we are planning a vacation to the Gulf of Mexico this summer. im curious as to where is the best spots. we need somewhere on the Florida coast. as close to Georgia as possible. we cant afford to spend to much money so cheapest but nice places. it will be me, my hubby, and our 2 kids. it will be a 4 day stay. please help with this. really dont want a place thats a big tourist attraction.

the gulf of mexico isnt close to Georgia.The Atlantic coast is. But if you do go to the Gulf,i suggest you go to Pass-a-Grille, which is the southern portion of St Pete Beach, i live about 30 miles from there and very few tourists go there, but when you go out in the water its like 80 deegres and when you go swimming you can dig up whole sand dollars, and it is one of the best shelling beachs in the U.S.. Its like 180 miles from the Georgia border in the Tampa Bay Region,dont go to the Atlantic Coast its ugly,and jammed packed with people since all the Orlando Locals,and Disney tourists go there.
