I work in an office setting and want a plant for my cubicle. I don't have any windows, so I was wondering if anyone knew of some types of nice plants that may do well without sunlight .. just water and nutrients?? Thanks!

  1. Cacti.  They don't even like water.  It's a no brainer.

  2. Pothos do very well in little or no light and may stay in the same small container for decades. Just train the vines round and round one another in the pot to keep in bounds.

  3. use water jelly crystals to plant your type of plant

  4. Peace Lilly you can get the green or variegated. The blooms last forever low light they love.

  7. What about a rubber plant?

Im not sure if thats exactly what their called, but im pretty sure their very low maintenance.

If not, maybe a cactus? lol

  8. aloe vera. i have it sitting in a dark corner of my room and i have to water it very little. it also comes in handy when you burn yourself.

  9. Rubber plants need sun.  Aloe plants need sun.  I wouldn't try to grow either of these in a sunless cubicle.  I grow aloe and rubber plants in my sunroom.

A "corn plant" dracaena http://www.botanicus.com/live_plants/bod... is an excellent cubicle plant.

    These are "man-made" cross plants.

These plants do not like sunlight; they like "lightbulb" light.  Their size is largely determined before it's purchased, so you won't see much growth.  They don't shed or drop leaves.  I see them at Lowe's and Home Depot.

  10. Aglaonema "emerald beauty" needs only ambient light and bi-weekly watering.  I got mine at Lowe's.

PS: Try watering from time to time with the remains from your coffee cup (black, or with sugar, but not cream)  It's a mild fertilizer!

  11. Pothos (aka "devil's ivy")...they will grow in any condition and are very hearty.....very pretty plants.

  12. try a bonzai tree they are very hearty.
