I'm using notepad only because that's the best I have. I need advice on a

good but free program with most importantly a good format. A spelling and grammar checker would be helpful too.

But most of all FREE

Ty in advance.

  1. Open Office -  This software is similar to microsoft office but FREE

  2. Open Office, without variants. Besides "the general" formats, such as *.doc or *.rtf he allows to keep in a format *.pdf. The lack - is slowly loaded.

  3. Check this out:

    http://www.openoffice.org/

It's free, powerful and works with all the major software packages too.

    Enjoy :-)

  4. www.openoffice.org  It's essentially a free version of the Microsoft Office suit and is fully compatible with MS Office (so you can open and save as MS Office files like Word Document, Excel Workbooks, and PowerPoint presentations).

The default file format it saves to is different than MS Office and I would take the time to change it so it defaults to Office 2003 as this will likely save you a lot of headaches when you try to share files later on.
