Tyrus misunderstood my question completely. I was just asking for a good quality wireless adapter for at the most, $50.

  1. the Linksys Compact Wireless-G USB Adapter is a good one

  2. Something about your questions doesn't seem to have all the information.  First, You should have a Router if you are going wireless.  If that is the case, I would recommend getting a card that matches the router.

Security on wireless is pretty weak.  You should have a password on your router site, Mac Address, SSIP WPA2.  Use the longest name with Capitals to name your network and make it so it does not have any words or names in it.  After you do that, you should make it invisible.  If you are not using your router, turn it off

if you rely on Mac ID to block, you're kidding yourself.  when you put that in, the router does is transmit those addresses everywhere wirelessly so that can be spoofed.  Router manufacturers are to lazy to encrypt almost anything
