I'm trying to collect autographs of NHL players, so I'm looking to buy a box of hockey cards. I know they are expensive now. What would be the best bang for my buck (as many pack of cards for a low price)? I'm looking for something from the past year, so I can get the young players as well.

  1.  Well there is a way out in my mind if you like to follow it. You can give an add on internet or at the place where you live or study that if some one likes to sell out these hockey cards to you. Mean you are not been able to gather much of money so you can buy it at some lesser price through this process.

I know no one will be giving away the cards but still no one knows what is there for you so keep trying and might be possible that this idea be helpful to you.

  2. O-Pee-Chee is the standard brand in Canada, and de facto set.  For example, the Wayne Gretzky Rookie card is O-Pee-Chee.  They generally don't cost too much.  If you're in the States, Topps is usually equivalent to these with the exact same layout, photos, etc.

Upper Deck Series 1 is a nice standard set as well, and gives you a better chance at some artifacts.  Everything else is either pricey (but you can score autographs, memorabilia etc) or not worth it.
