Sorry, I meant aroz bianco y frajoles rojos. "E" is Italian for "and".

  1. 5-8  lbs. pork shoulder

    6-8  cloves garlic

    1  teaspoon salt

    1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

    1 packet Sazon Goya

    1  teaspoon Adobo seasoning

    In a bowl, mix garlic, salt, and oregano.  

    With a sharp knife, make deep cuts in the pork and stuff the garlic mixture into the slits. (The more cuts the better the flavor)

    Sprinkle Sazon and Adobo seasoning all over the outside.

    Rub the seasongs in real good making sure entire surface is covered.

    Roast the pork in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for 4-6 hours uncovered in a pan with a rack.

    Pork should be well done and tender.

    Now, for the rice and beans.  Do you mean frijoles rojos (red beans) and arroz blanco (white rice) ?

                             PUERTO RICAN WHITE RICE

    1  lb. long rain rice

    1/4 cup vegetable oil

    16  oz. water or as needed*

    salt to taste

    Add vegetable oil to a big pot.

    Wash rice well and add to pot. Water should be about i inch above pot

    Add salt to taste.

    Cook on medium high until all the water is absorbed.

    Reduce heat to low.

    Cover the pot with aluminum foil and place the top on tightly.

    Cook for about 35-40 minutes, depending on your stove.

    RED KIDNEY BEANS

    1 can kidney beans

    2  tbsp olive oil

    1/2  cup ham, chopped

    1/2  cup onion, chopped

    1/4  cup green bell pepper, chopped

    2  cloves garlic, minced

    1/4  cup tomato sauce

    1  packet Sazon Goya

    3/4  cups water

    Heat oil in skillet over medium heat.  Add ham, onion, garlic, and pepper, cook for 10 minutes.

    Stir in remaining ingredients.

    Bring to a boil.  

    Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
