my birthday isn't until january 18th, but my mom really wants to start now planning and looking for a place. I was wondering what would be some good places to have one? (a place that could possibly be rented for less than $1,000 because we checked out Beat Street in Manayunk and there lowest price was between 2,000 and 3,000 which is a little out of our price range).

but if this helps, the theme that we are aiming for is a movie premeir night. so kinda red carpet and semi formal to formal.

***********and if you could include price/ website so i could look at them, that would be great!

thanks so much!!!!!!

  3. I'm sorry, but I would not use Blue Horizon.  Had to get that out first.

How many people?  Your budget isn't a lot.  You may want to find out about a theatre rental, a hotel suite, or some place further out like in the Northeast.  There's a place in my mind, but I can not remember the name.  You also may wanna find out if you can rent the pool area at a hotel, YMCA, or community center.  Make sure it's heated of course but a pool party in January, why not?  You can make it summer themed or tropical or something.

Good luck.  If I think of the place, I'll edit.

Oh what about a bowling alley?  http://phillybowl.2gobowl.com/

  4. Most movie theaters can be rented out.  Check out your local theaters (especially if you have an older theater and not one of the big names) in your area.

If you want it in town, try the Roxy Screening Room.

  5. depends on how many people...

but Blush restaurant is fine dining, has a great upstairs party room, when a veranda. www.dineatblush.com

  6. Honestly, $1,000 is not really enough.

Expect to have it on a weekday and have very little options in food choices.

You could try Bridget Foy's @ 2nd & South. Or Maybe Old Original Bookbinder's @ 2nd & Walnut. That place is desperate for customers. Alot of times, they'll wave the room rental fee.
