I am auditioning for "Snoopy!!!" and need a good song to sing. The deets:

-I am fourteen years old.

-I am an alto, but I have a pretty good range and can sing soprano

-The song should be age appropriate, as well as upbeat and energetic.

-The length of the song does not matter.

If anyone possibly has ANY good ideas, I would really appreciate them!!! Thanks.

  1. If you can sing "Seasons Of Love", that would be a good one, I think.

  2. I'd be looking at something from You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown - don't know the show well enough to recommend any particular song, but it would seem appropriate!  Whatever you decide to sing, stay away from Wicked, Hairspray, Legally Blonde, RENT, Avenue Q, Grease and Phantom of the Opera as they're all horribly overdone...

  3. hmmm, you could do a song by cascada.

everytime we touch, miracle, ready for love, perfect day, etc...

    those are really upbeat.

  4. Well idk if this is alto, soprano or whatever, but I like this song.

Don't mistake me - Keisha White

  5. Hey Alice!

Ok, well you should always follow some pretty general guidelines when auditioning/choosing a song.

Don't sing anything overdone or popular (Wicked, Rent, etc.)

Sing for the part you want. (If they're funny, sing funny. Sad, sing sad.)

Believe in yourself and choose a song you're confident with.

    Have fun :)

If you follow all four of those steps, you'll be sure to land a callback and from there it's out of your hands! As far as songs go, you're looking for something that's upbeat and probably funny. You can more than likely belt, so I'd sing something that can show off that range, but provide a character as well.

Shy from Once Upon a Mattress

    Born to Entertain from Ruthless

If They Could See Me Now from Sweet Charity

I Know Things Now from Into the Woods

All of this music (I believe) can be found in karaoke form at http://www.hamienet.com , but sheet music is a little bit more difficult. You may have to end up buying it from a site such as http://www.amazon.com , although you may get lucky and find someone who will send it to you.

Anyways, good luck with your audition and have a blast. Acting was meant to entertain the audience and the actors :) Break a leg and I wish you the very best.
