  1. I think you would like Rosa Regal ( slighly bubbly and a little sweet).

Perfect for someone who's not really into strong wines.

I gave it for gifts last x-mas and everyone loved it.

    Try it.

  2. If wine is always tasting a bit tart, are you drinking reds or dry whites.  If so, try the sweeter whites like Riesling or White Zinfandel. The Zin is produced only in California although some of the grapes are harvested in Washington and has a pinkish color.  Riesling is a German variety but is widely grown in some of the colder regions around the world.  The best are from the New York State Finger lakes region.

  3. pink wine, or rose wine.

  4. gewurtzraminer (Sp?) and reislings are fruity tasting by nature, and many great wine makers make these.  For alc content you hace to look at the label.  beringer white zinfandel is ok but if you want a flavored wine you go boone's farm or the same...

  5. Carlo Rosi best wine ever.. others are expensive vinegar

  6. If you are a novice of wine, you really should start slow. Too many novice drinker ends up drinking something that is not appropriate and then end up hating wine. So, please don't listen to what other people insists and drink something you might not like.  The old "red for red meat, white for white meat" does not apply for everyone.

As for wine, for your purpose, you should try light white wine. For novice drinker, I would suggest Sauvignon blanc, which is light, slightly fruity and sweet, and easy to drink. It is not bitter (tannic) and not overpowering. I would highly suggest Conundrum ($22), Chateau St. Michelle ($14), or Robert Mondavi Fume Blanc ($15).  Also you can try some Riesling.  Bonny Doon's Pacific Riesling (either sweet non dry, $12) is a wonderful start.

My fear for red wine is that red wine would be too "strong" for you. If you are interested in red, I would suggest Pinot Noir - but they can be a bit costly, since cheaper Pinot Noir would not be too great. You can try Hartfort Court ($45-60), Penner Ashe ($50), Siduri ($50), Nickel and Nickel ($50).

The other thing I would suggest for you to do is to go to a wine bar and try a wine "flight" - they will give you little tasting for 3-4 wines, so you can try to see which ones you might like.  Just go with an open mind, and you might be surprised.

    Cheers and good luck

  7. Moscato is my favorite... it has a high alcohol content is very light, fruity, and even has a little fizz.  Golan is my favorite Moscato.

Honey wines are very good as well.

Try, going to a winery near you.  They will let you try all thier wines and most will have at least one or two super fruity ones.  The winery near me has Peach, Raspberry, and Blackberry wines.  If you don't have a winery nearby, try a store that specializes in wine.  They will be able to help you match up your tastes and purpose for the wine (dinner, dessert, blah blah blah...)

enjoy... i believe wine is the nectar of the gods!
