Yes the forwards made it possible yet again. They have been the pack of the tournament - agree?

  1. Truly awesome!. I haven't felt so good for ages. Best Saturday of the year so far.

  2. I think it had more to do with the  forwards!

One man cannot win a game without supporting teammates!

  3. andrea,your spot on,i totaly agree

  4. this match was clearly a football game........... english players dont know how to play without their feet.....and he gets finalist lmao

  5. He nails them when it matters. He's not actually playing that well at the moment but when the pressure is on, there is no-one better.

  6. What annoys me is yes Johnny can kick a drop goal but that is not all he does he is always in the thick of the action ,he does not stand around waiting for the opportunity to kick it comes to him via the other players. He is an all rounder that is part of a bigger picture that picture being the ENGLISH TEAM.

  7. bad day at the office for jonny but came

    good in the end

  8. Jonny wilkinson is an amazing exponent of the drop goal and good on him for playing the game to the rules and winning for england.

in my opinion however drop goals ruin rugby. Who wants to watch a game dominated by forwards hitting the ball up just to get into position for a drop goal.

that semi final game had 5 drop goal attempts (at my count anyway) and only the 1 by wilkinson was successful. Thats 4 oppurtunities for attacking exciting rugby that we all love wasted.

i think drop goals should be reduced to one point to get rid of some of the drop goal mentality that seems to exist in rugby today.

discuss this further with me if you like

  9. Yes truly amazing.

  10. Jonny gets a lot of credit but you have to praise the forwards who held back the French and gave him the space and time to make the kick.

It was the same in 2003.  Martin Johnson got us that kick to win the world cup,  People on here are saying we are a one man team - but Johnny can't kick the ball if the forwards aren;t battering the opposition out of his way.
