A greek chariot? help me please...project?

Okay! can you wonderful people on yahoo please use your creative minds and help me find a way how to build a greek chariot...nothing with like getting a block of wood

its a middle school project....just please tell me if you could build something like this using popsicle sticks or something like that...household items...

I would greatly appreicate your help

  1. It depends on how big it is, do you want to ride it with a horse and everything or is it just a model?

    Chariots in those days were pretty spartan, er uh, simple things.  (I love puns)  Have you researched what they look like and their methods of construction?  

    You could easily use popsicle sticks for everything but the wheels.  These were iron age things but mostly made of wood for the frame, etc.  it may be (you'll have to check) that the basket was woven, like a wicker chair because they had to be light in weight.

    That could be simulated by taking a piece of burlap or heavy coarse cloth, soaking it with transparent glue and forming it into the desired shape, let it dry.

    The tough part is the wheels.  Do they have to turn?  

    Can or jar lids would work.  But if they have to turn it gets complicated.  But you'll figure it out.  Good luck!
