A group of friends told me that all Christian beliefs are childish, what does it mean?

many grown ups believe in Christ, right? what does that mean then? what do they try to insinuate?

  1. They want to alienate you from your family. In other words they are saying, "If you're cool you'll think like us", peer pressure to join their group... When you tell them they are right, they pat you on the back and tell you that "Now you are cool, you're one of us!" "You know it's really cool to smoke, it's cool to get high, it's cool to.... eventually they've changed you into one of them.

    -- I think you should be you and think for yourself.

    i personally believe everything!!

    weather it is supernatural or simply concrete!!

    when itcomes to christ, there are concrete and physical evedince that jesus did exist!! but the bible did turn it's words sice it has been toutched by soo many hands!! not to say that ithas been translated to so many languages!! check it yourself, get several bibles of difference covers and you will see that the writing differs from other... what do u have to say bout languages!!

  6. It means that they are trying to shame you into believing what they do. I don't know what is wrong with some people. Yes, many many adults believe in Christ. You believe what you feel in right, and tell your friends that you choose to make up your own mind. May I recommend that it is a good idea to be very careful when discussing religion and politics. Some people have beliefs different from yours, and sometimes they get MEAN when you refuse to be a sheep and change your mind to what they believe.

Your friends are right on the money.  Religion is for people of a lower mental capacity.  It's like if you're studying for a test and give up halfway thru 'cause the material is too hard to learn.  That's Christianity for you. Science and reality is too hard for them to grasp, so they hide in their little fantasy world.

  8. by saying childish what do they mean im 20 and beleave in jesus strictly because other religions and evolution especially dont have the facts in fact evolution is very close to disprooving itself  that diagram of the ape turning into man is false it has no factual evidence to prove that  in fact in our fossil record  you only see ape and then man no transitional forms what so ever im eman think about it if there was evolution and it takes millions of year to go from one species to another the there should at least be thousands of bones linking this im mean they say evolution happened to almost every animal and how long does an animal live including humans not more then 70 years so how many generations are in that time line of millions of years there are thousands so where are all these bones we seem to have no problem finding dinosaur bones why havent we found any transitional forms of any species because it doesnt exist and the christian religion supports the most evidence of god  i could debate this for weeks and i will always win ive looked into all other religions and christianity is by far the only one that makes sense my parents where jewish and i was raised as a jew but after looking into it    it was all obvious those freinds where probly taught evolution in school so naturally as a kid they dont research the facts of evolution its called the theory of evolution for a reason and its been around for almost a hundred years now      if it was so true and could be supported by science then it should have already been proven        

    And beside what anybody says savior or not jesus is text book he actually existed. thats a fact there is tons of evidence not including the bible to support that now there are conspericy theorist that say he never existed but those kind of people who like to ignore facts. i did a study of 250 people who where athiest and surprising enough most of them are scared that they are not the ruler of there lives that there is something greater then themselves heaven or h**l  iv spoken to scientist not heard and saw spoken to several scientist who agree that jesus existed and the evidence is irefudible they never said if they belaved he was gods son just that he definitly existed  the fact is people are stupid the person is smart or individuale.  fact is christanity is the most beleavable religion around anyone ever think out of the earth doubtfull its funny how people think we just happen to exist thats crasier then beleaving in god   i mean think about it a single celled organism the most basic form of like contains more info then two space shuttles  so how complicated do you think we are in whole our brain is the most complicated form of life on the planet if we evolved to survive we wouldnt have evolved to be smart we would have evolved to catch more prey be faster and stronger then any other animal why did we evolve to become weaker then our suposed ape ancestors that alone starts turning evolusionist tables. evolution states that a species changes for the better because if it was the best species on the planet why would it need to change yet thats not natural selection its all flawed lol

  12. Most people give up their belief in invisible fairy friends by the age of 4. Christians have not, but continue their fairy beliefs into adulthood. Their beliefs are still childish, even though they are not. This is what it means.

  14. They probably mean that it isn't very grown-up to take something at face-value without any evidence. However christian belief [and indeed any religious beliefs] are based on faith and are a very successful "meme" [a thought/ idea that spreads through human thinking like a virus]. Basically it tells its believers that if they have doubts it is down to the Devil. So people who don't educate themselves about the real world might get scared by that and start having faith as it seems the better option.

    Your friends used crude words to get their opinion across but at a very basic level they are right.

    Nobody who educates himself/herself and reads up on many different belief systems and science should just blindly belief anything.

    When will people make up their own minds, after all if there was a god [which there very probably isn't] he/she/it would have given us the capability of making up our own mind. So how can it be wrong then?


  15. They are mockers of Christ.  They choose to believe man over God.

    Only 2 religions:  God and man.  God has given us His Word, the Holy Bible and men refuse to read it and men reject God.  God keeps truth forever and God's Word will not perish.  God is more than able to protect His Word, the Holy Bible.  Read the King James Version.

    Jesus is definitely a stumbling block to many men.  At the name of Jesus, even demons tremble.

    These so-called friends have rejected Jesus and they are doing all that they can do to keep you from accepting Jesus.  Why not go directly to the Lord and ask Him if He is real to reveal Himself to you?

    There is no evidence for supernatural intervention. Hence, no religion that makes claims about a god, heaven, or angels should be accepted as true.

    But billions of people choose thousands of gods, despite the lack of reasoning.

  21. I don't know why they would of told you that Anyone's religious/spiritual beliefs are founded in their faith/or concept of a higher power. Just because opinions differ does not make one's beliefs "childish".Sounds like they don't know enough about Christian teachings,so they make comments like that out of ignorance of the subject!:)

    BTW:there is one thing u need to know, we must be as kids to enter God's heaven, meaning tender, loving, caring, helpful, innocent as a child not as a grow up who hates, kills, destroyes....

  26. Well, unfortunately for the christians, Christianity is a pagan born religion, jesus never died because he never lived, and there is evidence that the gnostics were practicing christianity 200 years before jesus's supposed birth.

It is forged by the imagination with no compelling evidence for its veracity. Explicitly using imagination to deal with reality is something done primarily by children, which is why some describe religion as childish.
