Question:

A guide w/auto?

Will spend 10 days in SJD and am wondering if a guide w/ auto is a lot more expensive than renting a car?

I would probably only want a car or guide for 3 or 4 of the days there-maybe a trip up the west coast, etc.

  1. Hola!  You made a good pick with staying in SJD, but I am wondering why you need a guide w/auto?  Is there a certain thing you want to partake in while in Cabo?  Why exactly do you need to rent a car?  You will find the town of SJD very walkable and easy access.  Beaches, restaurants, shops in SJD are all easy access by taxi/shuttle or even bus.

Is the car and guide for activities?   We have alot of reputable tour companies in the area.  I would personally recommend Baja Wild or Baja Adventures.  to kayak, snorkel, ATV, hike, 4x4, whale watch, etc.

If you want to drive 'the loop'  it is very easy...you do not need a guide.  "The loop" is the highway that connects La Paz with Cabo and goes all along the coastline of the pennisula.  It is a very scenic trip and very safe.  You can stop in each little town (cabo san lucas, todos santos, la paz, los barrilles, etc) and sightsee.  It is approximately 4 hours round trip but most people make a day of it, or stay over in La Paz.
