  1. give them some paper towel to rip up and make a nest with. do not use toilet paper though as it will get stuck in your hammys cheeks

  2. I have never heard of any hamsters needing a friend.  They are solitary animals who do best alone.  If you put them together they can serious injure or even kill one another.

  3. Hmm well dwarf hamsters do MUCH better with the same s*x pairs. Can't you bring your mom over to the computer and show her that all the websites say that they need to be in pairs??

Anyway, dose your hamster have a wheel? Thats the most important toy ever, and they need it to stay healthy.

Aside from the toilet paper tubes, and a wheel, you could give her a PAPER, not styrofoam, PAPER egg carten to play in.

  4. sorry i am no expert on hamster depression... but i have good ideas for toys!

you can get adapters to wire cages that allow you to connect habitrail tubes to the cage. it might be more entertaining!

you can hang huge paper clips on the top so they swing when touched, or jars that he can hop on, sleep in, or roll in. you can also cut hammy sized holes in those paper rolls- he'll crawl in and out of the openings. you can string together some old house keys on twine and he can bat them around and listen to them jingle.

  5. What about another girl ham. they cant have babies with a girl ham. and u could babysit for cash

  6. Let her out of her cage more often the run about alls are best. They will sure give her a ton of fun and help her get less lonely. Also it may a little late to get her a buddy. If she is over three months old then it would be really chancy to get her a buddy any ways.

    Home Made hamster idea:

    Hamster Clay

You can easily mold this clay into what ever you want. These will make the casge look more personal and they will love chewing on these home-made toys!

You can make him things out of home-made clay here is a safe recipe for hamsters

    1c Flour

    1/2c salt

    1/2c water

A few drops of food coloring(optional)

    Mix together.

    Mold

Bake @ 275 degrees F until hard or light brown on top

This is totally safe for your hamster to chew on and play with.It also acts sorta like the salt licks

    Coconut Cozzy

    1. Drain or suck the liquid out of the coconut by making 2 small holes in it with the knife (one to let the air in, the other to drain the liquid).

    2. Set the coconut down on a table. Mark out a spot for the entrance that your hamster will be able to easily reach (be sure that the entrance won't get covered if the coconut rolls over).

    3. Drill the 5 cm (2 in) diameter hole where you have marked the entrance to be.

    4. Scoop out the coconut flesh.

    5. Eat what you've scooped out!

    6. Wash out the inside of the coconut and sand the edges of the hole if necessary.

    Indoor Play Pen

You can use toddler tile blocks to build a play pen for your hamster

Legos, licoln logs, ellos are great things to make for your hamsters. Ellos and legos will not be chewed on because of there smooth sides. You can build little homes for them to nest in.

    Burrowing Bowl

You can make a borrowing bowl for your hamster really easily. Just take a really steep open container/bucket. Then fill it up with wood chips leaving and inch or two on the top clear so they can't get out(you still need to watch them). Your hamster will likely start burrowing. Your hamster may or may not enjoy this depending on the hamster.

    Jars

If you have an old jar then it is great to use as a nesting box.Leave cleaned and empty jar into your hamsters cage. This will be to hard for yout hamster to chew on and can be rotated with other toys to help give your hamster variety.

SWING!,Find 3 wood chips [clean them] hot glue them together [sideways].Cut a little piece of leather or cloth of an old washcloth and cover them hot glue it [but glue it under so you cant see the glue take two pieces of wood one 4 inches wide and thin two 2 inches thick.Take the one and other two cover them with cloth or leather.Place the one down flat and glue the two sort of crooked take two pieces of string and tie them to the top of the two crooked wood sticks at the bottom of the string tie the wood chips to the bottom.

Also cardboard egg cartons can be used to hide food in. You can cut one "egg slot" our of the whole carton. Then you can place it into the cage with a piece of food being obscured by it.

You can also use square tissue boxes with doors and even windows cut out for your hamster to go in and out of.

PVC pipes for pluming(NEW) That your dwarf could crawl in and out of.

    ~~Hope this helps!~~

    ~~Good luck~~

  7. if you are sure your hampster is a girl then getting another hampster is nessesary. Tell your mom that you will get another girl, lonelyness can lead to stress, deppresion anxioty and other things so your little hampster will need another friend besides you. As for toys she will get bord of them in a while anyway.
