I don't remember the name of the surfer, the song or the movie. It's a cool acoustic surf punk song, about surfing and smoking stuff. The song plays during his segment...

  1. Well if it talks about smoking stuff it probably isn't Jack Johnson, not his style.  Might be Slightly Stoopid though, although I can't remember them being featured in any videos.  Could also maybe be Pepper.

It could also have been from the Thicker Than Water video since it did feature John John and has an acoustic soundtrack,  but I don't know which songs are tied to which clips from the video.  If you know someone with that video you could borrow the soundtrack from them since it came with one.  The soundtrack is also available on iTunes.

  2. burn one downs a great song and yeah smoking and punk isnt jack johnsons style

  3. Just throwing out a wild guess here but I saw a documentary on grom surfer John John Florence and it had a Jack Johnson song playing in the background with a eukelele.  John John is this lil' teenaged blonde haired ripper who lives right on the beach on the North Shore.  His mom was a pro longboarder and he has been surfing since he was 5.  Can't really help you on the name of the song but you should check out some Jack Johnson stuff anyway if you haven't already.  He is a really soulful musician from Hawaii and a former pro surfer himself.

*edit* After seeing Kim Dude's answer, I thought of another person.  I didn't notice the "smoking stuff" part when I first read your question but if that's the case, it could definitely be a Ben Harper song.  He has a song called "Burn One Down" that is about blazing.
