A helicopter circled over my house quite low to the ground 5 times and then left in a straight line?

It's like 2:30 a.m.

I heard the noise and looked out the window and saw what I believe to be a helicopter (blue, green red lights + chopper noise) circling my house slightly erratically quite low to the ground.

It did about five or six loops and then took off in a straight line away from my house.

@ first I thought it was police helicopter looking for someone based on the erratic circles it was making, but the way it just left after the loops makes me reconsider my suspicion. What did they just give up and go home? ha ha

ANYWAY, if you know why on earth a helicopter would do this, or what type of helicopter would behave this way I am QUITE curious.

Is this normal?

Has this happened to any of you?

It was most likely a Police helicoptor doing "Thermal Heat Radar" They fly at night and can detect heat coming from house's (lights usually bring off a lot of heat) the reason they do this is to try to catch people growing Marijuana....

Maybe your house was bringing off a lot of heat to the Thermal Heat Radar the chopper had and maybe it was suspecious to them so they circled your house until they came to a conclusion.

If you have multiple lights on in a single room(area) A police chopper can possibly pick that up on there Thermal Radar and do an invesigation without a warrent sence they are NOT entering your house or spying on you..They can only see the heat the house gives off..

I believe Infrared is the correct term, not thermal radar.

Many police/search&rescuse helicopters are outfitted with FLiR (Forward Looking infraRed) or some other form of IR sensors that allow pilots and/or operators aboard the craft to search for suspects, missing persons, see if a vehicle has been running, and yes, peer inside of buildings to look for unsual heat signatures.  This is easier at night due to cooler temperatures and no sun beating down on your target.  Perhaps what happened was the perception that it was circling your entire house.  

Do you think there is the possibility it was circling several other houses at the same time?  More likely, it was looking for someone.  At 2:30am, you don't have to be that close the ground in order to get an IR signature.  If there was something of interest to them, they would have seen it easily from several hundred feet in the air, not right over your house.

It was a FEMA helicopter searching out landing zones to come after RED listed people when the NWO take control over the US.

JK - read that in a conspiracy story and thought it would be funny.

Well coming from Los Angeles Cali, here... when that happens, i get the family and tell them to make sure all the doors and windows are locked closed! this is because the Police Helli is likely Searching for a suspect and well i'd like to keep that person out of my place!

i don't stick my nose out, i lock and load... and wait for the quiet clear.

yes it is normal. sometimes, the pilot will stay stationary and drop flares from underneath the tail to see if he is still hovering.

What you heard was probably something very similar
