  1. How tall is the hiker?You need to know this for accurate measurement.because the height will be different for a 5' tall person than it is for a 6' tall person

  2. assume the hight of the tree is " h " , and the hiker is at 80 ft distance, the angel is 75

    then:

    tan 75 = h/80  we are not considering the hight of the hiker

    3.73 = h/80

    h = 80x3.73 = 298.56 ft is the hight of the tree

  3. 299 feet

    298.568 to be more exact

  4. Simple Trignometry

      the height equals Ltan(75)+ Viewer's height
