A history question actually. Which is the first all welded ship? Mind you, no rivets, ONLY welding used.?

edit:-they do have rivetless superstructures actually. but thanks anyway. 1920s and 30s is the first all welded, i am still searching

  1. The first all welded vessels were the American built Liberty vessels from WW2. It was later found that if the welding was not done well they would crack, rather as the MSC Napoli did so most companies continued to use rivets in the hull to stop cracks.
