is it good to buy new a house at this time

Right now it is suppose to be a "buyers market", which means that the houses are getting cheaper and there are tons of them on the market.  Careful what you get into though, there are tons of repos out there now.

Go to the bank & see if you can qualify, the mortgage companies just changed your minimum credit rating to 580 to even qualify for a loan.  It always looks good to have a prequalification.

well if you want a house keep that one find a house see if they accept you and then sell the other house.

When you say NEW.  Are you meaning BRAND NEW as in just built or just a different house?  As you  know houses are not selling in most parts of the country so it would be a good time to get a deal on a house that has been on the market for sometime.  Also depends on where you live.  In our area house prices have only dropped a little, but there is still quite a few on the market to be had.  It is definitely a buyers market, especially if you have cash or a really good deposit.  Good Luck.

buying a new house is good but they kill you on the extra's.  Like if you want more than one recess can in the cieling that is like 200 each when it only cost them $50 to do it.  You also got to know that you dont get window treatments like blinds and or drapes and everything is just white in the house so that gets old too.   There is no fence or deck and sometimes no grass in the yard.  There are a ton of things you have to buy when you get a new house and most of the time its all things you did not think about.  So its almost better to get a house that is like 5-10 years old.  This way someone else has put a fence up and some blinds etc.....
