A job asked me to provide my salary expectations ... what should I say??

I was thinking about saying what are you offering but am not sure if that's the correct thing to do

  1. Yes, say what the market is, but If they corner you into giving a number, use a range from what you want to a decent amount over.


  2. You can say you are open to what the market bears for someone with your skill set and years of experience.  

  3. Give a range.  Say "I'm looking in the range between $55-$60K, but it also will depend on the position and overall compensation package."  You can also leave out the number and just say the rest.  

    However, some will ask you your salary history, in this case, you need to provide the salary you made at your last employer.  Some will ask straight out what your current salary is.  DON'T say "what are you offering."

  4. i've answered that with what i've been paid previously and ask what the job pays and hope the two are inbetween
