A job excerising horses?

Question

does anyone nedd or know some1 who need someone to exercise their horse while they go on holidays? i want a job exercising or looking after them anything u need feeding or running even riding them i have been riding for a bout 4 months but i know how to feed and look after a horse.

i live in darwin NT , Australia so i can only do horses in darwin or palmerston

Have a look in your local newspaper, or put an add up at your local stable or pony club.

...Only 4 months?? I don't know if many people would accept a person with only 4 months experience under their belt around their horse... There will also be other issues with being under 18 too.

Can you handle a problem horse or a green horse?

Do you know all the signs of lameness or Colic?

Can you walk, trot and canter really well?

Can you stay on when a horse spooks?

Are you really good at Loungin?

Do you know basic medical treatment for cuts, scrapes, or bites?

I would wait at least a year til you start working with someones horses that your not supervised with.

I doubt that you will find anyone that will trust someone to feed and/or exercise their horses while they are not there that has no more experience than you have.  I commend you for wanting to work, but maybe, if you still want to in a year and work with someone doing those types of activities while they are there, they might let you continue with their horses while they are gone.  There is a lot more to caring for horses than just putting in the feed and turning them out...you have to know horses and know when something is wrong and needs attention...it is a skill that is acquired with experience...good luck.

I don't think 4 months is long enough to start excercising people's horses yet. Get a little bit more experience... Then after about a year or so, start looking again for horses to excercise! Great idea though! :D
