I threw a ball (i) vertically up in the sky (ii) 45 degree with horizone at a speed of 50 ms^-1. With what velocity will ball hit the ground in both cases.

In both cases conservation of energy, gives that it will hit the ground with the same speed of 50m/s and direction

i) vertically down

ii) 45 degree with horizon, down

i)50 m/s

ii)50 * Sin(45) =35.36 m/s:  vertical component
