Question:

A large branch of my weeping willow tree blew down. What concerns should I have when I trim it off?

There are 2 huge and very old willows right next to each other. One seems very healthy, the one that the branch blew down from also has a section that seems dead. I am trying to decided if it will be safe for us to trim the tree or if we need to hire an expert. Could we harm the tree?

  1. You might open the way for fungus or similar afflictions, but so would the hired help.  Just don't drench it in water after you cut the limb off.

  2. I sggest that  you get rid of the half-dead tree and see what the other tree does. Sorry I am not a fan of weeping willows - too much mess and soft wood.

  3. it might fall on your head witch could cause some problems for u
