  1. Russian. Not only that, but in the US, there is probably more than 90% probability that the person is also Jewish.


  2. My guess would be Hebrew (Jewish).  Examples are Horowitz or  Rabinowitz.  But remember, you cannot always tell someone's nationality by their name, even if their name is clearly from a particular nationality or culture.    

  3. Probably Russian but a lot of Jewish names end with witz.
