  1. I'm not sure what your question is. If it's about the felling of trees in your neighborhood and you're upset about it, sure write a letter. As for newspapers using trees, you need to understand that process. The trees used for newsprint are soft pines grown mostly in Canada and replaced 10-1 when trees are cut down. It takes about 7 years for a pine to reach the stage where it can be used for newsprint. These trees are grown on farms like corn and soybeans. they are a renewable resource. Rain forest trees are not used for newsprint.

The reason to recycle newsprint is more to keep it out of landfills rather than to "save" trees. It is estimated that there are more trees in North America today than when Columbus landed here in 1492. In the United States, our forests are threatened, but not by newsprint. They're threatened by logging for other commercial uses and by urban sprawl.

  2. What letter, what trees?

  3. They use the trees to make the paper for your morning newspaper.

  4. And just what did that letter say? That would be a big help in answering your question?
