I have 6 Highers, 2 of which subjects I also passed at CSYS level (Scottish qualifications) Highers being at a lower level than A levels, and CSYS being worth more than 'A' Levels. I achieved these in 1994 (I have 7 standard grades which are the equivalent of 'O' levels).

My partner has 2 'A' levels with 8 'O' Levels, achieved in 1984.

My mother has 2 'A' levels with 8 'O' Levels achieved in 1967.

Whose qaualifications are worth the most?

  1. same

  2. Huh? It depends on the grades they achieved. Two A levels at grade A are worth more than 2 A levels at grade E from whatever year.

It also depends on what you want to do with them. If you want a job in engineering, an O level in maths or physics is probably worth more than an A level in Ancient Greek.

  3. Your partner and mother both have higher grades than yourself and they are both "worth" the same.

  4. It's roughly the same. In 1994 the exam system was not quite as stupid as it is today.
