First off if you in a large city it won't be hard to find a gym.  Look it up on map quest, or yahoo local, etc. But make sure that when you chose one that you look at these points.

1. How much is it? If it is to much then the trainer may just be interested in money and train you very little.

2.Whats the coaches back ground? Did they box pro or, just armature? How many students are there if there are a lot then the coach is most likely very good.
