A list of problems (sony vaio VGC RB-52)

Question

Ok well where do I start... I have a Sony Vaio VGC RB-52. There was a power surge in the area therefor my computer died (the green power light in the back was blinking). I actually read a tip on here about disconnecting the power from the motherboard and success! it worked! BUT.. now my monitor ''turn on''. It just stays on standby mode.. I've tried everything, I literally disconnected everything from the motherboard and re-connected it... I was getting a weird clicking noise which sounded like it was coming from the CD drive(s) so I disconnected those and it turns out the clicking stopped. Re-connected and still the same problem... now the computer won't even power on.. any advice? someone PLEASE help..
