A litte doubt here: Does the world have 5 continents or 7 continents?

My history teacher says that the world has 7 continents(Africa, Asia, Australia, Antartica, South America, North America and Europe) and then relatives from different countries say that theres 5 continents (america, asia, australia, africa and europe). Which answer is correct?

  5. The answer is - Europe is NOT a continent!!!  That is Eurocentric BS.  Ask whoever for the water demarcation between the two land masses.  There ain’t one.

    The continents are:

    North America, South America, Eurasia, Australia (Australasia), Africa and Antarctica.  

    And if you want to combine the Americas too - that's OK.
