A little advise?

I'm interested into going to universities outside of Alberta or even Canada. Hows UBC? Is it a good school?

Yes.  Engineering and Medicine.

yes, UBC consistently rates near the top of Canadian Universities for Medicine and engineering.  Average Grade 12 mark for entrance is over 86% tho!@

For criminology/sociology  and such Simon Fraser University in Burnaby.

For high tech Simon Fraser's Central City campus in Surrey is up and coming.  

Other universities in BC are:

Kwantlan University  (formerly univ/college) multiple sites, Surrey, Langley.

University of Victoria is big for pediatric and youth type vocations/

University of the Fraser Valley, Abottsford... Caribou University, Kamloops.

Northwest Community in Terrace.  etc..

University of Northern BC...Prince George. .
