  1. Aw, I'm so sorry about that.

I don't think there is really a way that works to keep from having nightmares but just remember that your bad dreams aren't real!

You should try to stop thinking about it. See if that helps. I don't know what other advice to give to you.

    Good Luck,

    Dani

    P.S. I'm turning 13 in December too! :)

  2. Hey Sweetie,

I know what you are going through. Last year I was in a really bad car accident, I came really close to dying and had problems with it for a while too. If your biggest problem is with nightmares, before you go to sleep, try to relax for a while first and keep your mind on positive thoughts. Maybe you can read a good book, take a bath, or watch a show that makes you feel good. Anything that you enjoy and will keep your mind focused is good. When you lay down to go to sleep, tell yourself what you will dream about tonight. lol, I know this may sound kinda weird, but you really can tell yourself what you will dream about. Tell yourself that you will have good dreams and have a restful nights' sleep.

Affirmations are really good for this kind of thing. You could say, "I will have good dreams tonight." or "I dream about happy moments." or "My dreams are peaceful and calm." or whatever else resonates best with you. Whatever you choose, say it over and over again for a few minutes, feel it and believe you will.

It will get better soon, and even sooner if you know it will. If you feel like you want to talk about this with someone, go ahead and do that. Don't feel like your parents are the only ones you can talk to about this either, sometimes the best people to talk about these kinds of things is someone you wouldn't think of first, like an aunt or maybe an older cousin. This fire was just an isolated incident. You and your family are okay. :)

Take care hon. ;)  Feel free to come back with anything else.

  3. I sounds like you may have some post traumatic stress syndrome talk to mom and dad about it
