I posted this yesterday, but didn't find the answer I was looking for can someone help me out again? :)

I have a couple of questions about chemically straightening your hair.

1. Is it permanent? If not, for how long will it stay like that?

2. What are the negative side effects (if any) of having it done. (I've never done anything to damage my hair before.)

3. How much would it cost?

Thank you in advance :)

  1. 1. chemically straightening hair is permanent, but your hair does grow out of it so how long it takes for your hair to grow is how long the chemical will last

    2. chemicals do damage hair, like , for instance, it can dry out your hair, causing all sorts of problems!

    3. how much it costs depends on where you buy it, i live in Trinidad and that sort of stuff don't cost that much.

    hope that helped!!

  2. 1. Yes it is permanent to an extint...like color its permanent but also grows out. When your new growth grows out you will have to get it redone just like color or highlights. Personally I haven't seen it work amazing yes it straightenings ,but not like I expected. (thats my opinion). Plus I could have used a different brand than others.

    2. Well it is a chemical so yes it will be harmful to your hair, but thats anything you do to your hair perm, highlight etc. As long as you go to a professional, you should be fine. Will also need to get a little cut afterwards just to knock the dead ends off.

    3. I would say about $150.00-$200.00. Just dpends on where you go.
