ok i started ortho evra (birth control patch) late june. i used it for about a month. i had stopped taking it the 26 of july (which was a monday and the begining/middle of my cycle) because me and my spouse was going to try for a baby. i was told since i only used it for a month my cycle should be regular again within a week (since it only takes a week for the hormones to leave your system. i had started bleeding on wednesday and i got real scared cause i didnt know if this was suppose to happen. so for some odd reason i decided to put back on the patch. now what was the chance that i ovulated and the chance that i could be or could have gotten pregnant since i messed up my birth control a bit?

  1. I don't think you are pregnant. To begin it really depends on your body to determine when your cycle will go back to normal. Just because you used the patch for one month doesn't mean everything will instantly go back to normal within a week. As far as the bleeding that is expected. Anytime you begin taking a hormonal birth control and then you stop you generally get your monthly friend. This is why you take off the patch or stop taking the active pills for a week so that your period can begin. I used the patch for three years and every fourth week on exactly Wednesday morning my period always began so the bleeding is normal. If you are seriously considering trying to conceive, I would suggest staying off of birth control because when you go back and forth it can just make it more difficult.

  2. ive use it to about a year ago and my periods used to be very producible but after i took the birth control my periods bounce all over the place
